Remarks C. lunatus is the causal agent of a number of diseases on cereals. Only one citation of spinach as a host found from Pakistan in the USDA database. Spinach is not commonly known as a host of C. lunatus. No references found indicating seed as a pathway for C. lunatus in spinach. Observed on plants of Indian or Malabar spinach (Basella rubra) which is not the same as spinach (Spinacia oleracea). <strong>Available information indicates there is no scientific basis for regulation of C. lunatus on spinach seed.</strong>
