Remarks CMV has a very wide host range and transmitted by a large number of aphids. Although CMV infection occurs in carrot it is not commonly reported. No references found indicating seed as a pathway for CMV in carrots. Seed can be a pathway for CMV in bean, soybean and lentils, spinach and experimentally in pepper. Available information indicates there is no scientific basis for regulation of CMV on carrot seed.
