Remarks Phoma rostrupii causes a dry, brown rot of carrot in Russia and surrounding countries. Some sources state that the fungus is seedborne on carrot, however, no original references were found to support these claims. Until original references are found, these statements are considered unsupported and seed is not considered to be a pathway for this fungus in carrot. Available information indicates there is no scientific basis for regulation of P. rostrupii on carrot seed.
