Remarks This fungus is the causal agent of charcoal rot on many plant species including soybean, peanut, corn and beans. One old abstract reports this fungus was the causal agent of a storage rot in carrots, however, no other, more recent, references found indicating carrot as a host of M phaseolina. Available information indicates there is no scientific basis for regulation of M. phaseolina on carrot seed.
