Remarks The information on Carrot temperate virus 4 stems from one report from Japan. Carrot temperate virus 4 belongs to the virus group known as cryptic viruses. The only means of movement of the virus is cell to cell. The host plants are symptomless and the 'disease' is of no economic importance. No other references found indicating seed as a pathway for CTeV-4 in carrot. Available information indicates there is no scientific basis for regulation of CteV-4 on carrot seed.
